Tip
Style a small bathroom (clever and pretty)
A small bathroom is an optimisation challenge, but also the easiest room to transform: little surface, so little budget for a big effect. Here's how to make it practical AND beautiful.
Go up the wall, think vertical
On the floor, keep as much clear as possible. Everything goes up: shelves to the ceiling, a narrow column, a shower niche, hooks. A wall-hung vanity frees the floor and visually enlarges the room.

A large mirror, always
The mirror is the small room's number-one weapon: it visually doubles the space and bounces light. Go as large as possible (even a full wall), and consider a model with built-in storage (mirror cabinet).
Materials that warm it up
An all-white small bathroom can feel clinical fast. Add wood (vanity, stool), black or brass taps, a humidity-loving plant (eucalyptus, pothos). These touches give it character.
Get the lighting right
A single ceiling light flattens. Add a sconce on each side of the mirror (shadow-free light on the face) and, if possible, a warm ambient source. Light is 50% of the cosy effect.

Unify to enlarge
The fewer breaks, the bigger the room looks: tiling from floor to wall in a light tone, closed storage to hide the mess, matching towels. Consistency, again, does everything.
A good small bathroom is vertical storage, a large mirror, some warm material and lovely light. Start with the mirror and a sconce, the effect is instant.
