When it hits 35 °C we usually grab a grey plastic fan that clashes with everything. Wrong move: there are well-designed tower fans (wood finish, clean lines) that cool the room and blend into the decor. Rough budget: from ~€80-90.

What to look for
Before buying, check three things: the stated noise level (aim for under ~50 dB on low if it's for a bedroom), the oscillation (wide, to move air across the whole room), and the finish (light wood, matte white or matte black to suit your decor). A timer and a remote are a real everyday plus.
Why a tower fan works in decor
A tower blows along its full height and takes up almost no floor space: ideal for small rooms. Its slim vertical silhouette reads as an object, not an appliance. Placed near a window, lined up with a tall piece or a plant, it disappears into the composition.
How to blend it in
The rule is blending: light-wood finish for japandi/scandi, matte black for industrial/contemporary, white for a bright room. Keep it out of the walkway, it should look like it belongs.
The pro move
A fan moves air, it doesn't chill it. Put a frozen bottle in front of the intake grille, close shutters and light curtains during peak heat, build a cross-breeze in the evening: several 'felt' degrees off, for €0.
